Three Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Honour

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
