Viktor Gyokeres joined Arsenal after leaving Sporting in July

Gunners forward Viktor Gyokeres fails to make the cut in Graham Potter's maiden Swedish national squad, whereas Reds forward Alexander Isak has earned selection

The Arsenal forward is set to undergo further examinations in the coming days following worries of a muscle problem during the Gunners's Premier League triumph against Burnley on Saturday

The 27-year-old missed Arsenal' European success against the Czech side earlier this week

Alexander Isak Returns

Isak, who has been sidelined from 22 October because of muscle issues, made the squad for the World Cup games against the Swiss team (November 15th) and the Slovenian side (November 18th)

Other Premier League Inclusions

  • Spurs midfielder the young talent, working his way back after a head knock
  • Newcastle winger Anthony Elanga

Both athletes feature in Potter's Premier League contingent selected by ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham manager Graham Potter

Potter's Role

Potter was named by Sweden first temporarily in late October, less than a month after he was dismissed by West Ham

Previous boss the Danish coach lost his job after the national team's 1-0 loss against Kosovo in mid-October, a result that made straight qualification from their World Cup group impossible

Present Position

The Swedish team are currently last place in Group B with just one point in four matches

Should they don't manage to secure second place, they could still participate in the secondary qualification due to thanks to their showing during the previous Nations League
