Shoah Victims Demand Nigel Farage to Make Amends Over Alleged Antisemitic Comments.

A group of Holocaust survivors has called for that Nigel Farage tell the truth and apologise for alleged anti-Jewish taunts attributed to him toward Jewish pupils during his youth.

The political party leader has said he never racially abused anyone with malicious intent, suggesting it may have been mere "playground banter".

"As Shoah survivors, we understand the profound danger of hateful words – for we have seen where such words ultimately lead," declared the survivors in a missive.

"Let us be clear: lauding Hitler, mimicking gas chambers, or shouting racist insults is not simple joking. Not among children. Not ever."

The document asks blunt questions to the public figure: "Is it true you said ‘Hitler was right’ and ‘gas them,’ and mimicked gas chambers? Did you subject your peers to bigoted harassment?"

The Signatories

The group of eleven survivors includes individuals with deeply traumatic personal experiences from the Holocaust.

• Hedi Argent, who saw the murder of 27 members of her family.
• Simon Winston, who was confined to a ghetto before escaping in 1942 and spending the rest of the war as a fugitive.
• Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, who was deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau and later transferred to Bergen-Belsen, where she was freed.

Additional names on the letter include Janine Webber, Edith Jayne, Helen Aronson, Ruth Barnett, John Fieldsend, Susan Pollack, Hanneke Dye and Agnes Kaposi.

Mounting Testimony

This public letter follows the dismissal of similar testimony by more than two dozen or more alumni and teachers as "fabricated nonsense" by a high-ranking official.

Since the initial report, additional former pupils have come forward. Nearly thirty ex-students and educators now assert they observed prejudiced actions by him.

One prominent allegation comes from Peter Ettedgui, a Jewish-born award-winning director, who said that a young Farage would come near him and say the phrases "Hitler was right" and "gas them", sometimes adding a long hiss to imitate the sound of poison gas.
