Red Bull Reveals Significant 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Steps Up, Youngster Lindblad Earns F1 Drive.

The Red Bull team has announced a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, elevating French driver Isack Hadjar to its senior team and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat.

The young driver, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, is set to become the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team Racing Bulls.

This driver musical chairs sees Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1.

The New British Hope

Lindblad has been identified as a prodigy by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Discussing the company's young driver programme, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "natural quickness".

Red Bull has been working for some time to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City.

The rookie said it was a "proud moment", adding: "Next season represents a massive test, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to collaborate with the team and step up. I am incredibly excited to get started."

Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 this year and is P6 in the standings heading into the final round in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

Hadjar's F1 career started in difficult fashion when he crashed on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has been one of the stand-out rookies this season.

His performances included an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the championship.

A senior team figure said: "Isack has shown impressive growth and demonstrated to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can succeed alongside Max."

Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared".

Tsunoda's Exit

For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

The New Zealander began the season with the main team but was demoted after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits more time.

Tsunoda, in contrast, loses his place after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a sixth place, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship.

The driver market moves confirm that there remains no place on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 for 2026.
