President Trump Welcomes Families of Shot Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across the state have been held in their honor.

Presidential Call

The president explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump informed journalists. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Mourners assembled over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to support law enforcement in the capital.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Service arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Policy Changes

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and cease providing entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on the program that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had bravery,” Morrisey told the crowd at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
