Patrick Bamford Joins the Blades After Initiating Abusive Chants About Manager Chris Wilder

The striker has signed with the Championship side only seven months following starting insulting chants directed at their manager, Chris Wilder.

This experienced striker, without a club after departing from Leeds United, has agreed to a deal with the second-tier strugglers until January. Bamford's seven-year time at Elland Road finished amicably this past summer.

One of Bamford’s final notable acts while at Leeds involved leading abusive chants regarding Wilder amid the club’s success festivities this spring. Currently, the one-cap England player is set to play for Wilder as the Blades’ manager aims to rescue his beloved club away from the relegation zone.

Previous Conflict Involving Bamford & the Manager

Both men had previous conflict prior to Leeds won promotion to the top flight the previous campaign while Sheffield United were defeated in the promotion decider to Sunderland. The manager described Bamford as a "muppet" when the situation was different in 2018-19 and the Blades won direct promotion whereas Leeds United missed out in the playoffs.

Making Amends and Moving Forward

Everything appears has been forgiven and forgotten with Sheffield United, the Championship’s least productive attack, urgently requiring of improvement up front while Bamford looking to rejuvenate his career.

The song about Wilder spread widely in April. An apologetic Patrick and the Leeds manager, Daniel Farke, called Wilder the next day.

Chris Wilder stated back then: “Had a conversation with Pat yesterday and I’ve no problem at all with that. I’m not sure about the language from a fellow pro! But I appreciated and admired him calling me.

“We had a short while and similarly I talked with Daniel Farke as well and had a half-hour chat together and he is a super guy, a top guy. When I was playing we used to dish it out and take it and that’s an integral part of football across all levels, even on a Sunday morning. I have absolutely no issue. I am cool with it and I told him that to Patrick.”

Recent Career Challenges

Bamford featured in 18 games for Leeds last season but the ex- Nottingham Forest, Chelsea FC & Boro striker has struggled with fitness issues over the past few seasons.
