Congressional Democrats Unveil Latest Batch of Epstein Images as Justice Department Time Limit Approaches

The House investigative committee has published a batch of approximately 70 photographs from the estate of late found guilty sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This marks the third release from a tranche of in excess of 95,000 photos the panel has obtained from Epstein's estate. It contains images of passages from the book Lolita written across a female's body, and redacted images of women's international passports.

This disclosure arrives hours before the 19th of December cut-off for the DOJ to release every files related to its investigation into Epstein.

"These new photos bring up more queries about exactly what the Justice Department has in its possession," said the senior Democrat of the committee, Robert Garcia.

Contents in the Photos Released

Several of the photos published on Thursday feature Epstein speaking with academic and activist Noam Chomsky on a private plane; Bill Gates positioned alongside a individual whose face is obscured; Steve Bannon positioned at a desk across from Epstein, and ex- Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.

These are the latest wealthy, prominent men to be photographed in Epstein estate images released by the committee - earlier published photos also show US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, former US treasury secretary Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Being pictured in the photos is not evidence of any wrongdoing, and a number of the pictured men have asserted they were in no way participating in Epstein's criminal activity.

In a statement accompanying the image release, Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate did not offer explanatory details or timings for the images.

"Photos were chosen to furnish the public with transparency into a typical cross-section of the photos obtained from the estate, and to give understanding into Epstein's associates and his extremely disturbing actions," the announcement reads.

The publication also features multiple photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov novel Lolita inscribed in dark ink across several locations of a female's body, including her torso, foot, pelvis, and spine. Lolita recounts the account of a young girl who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.

A particular quote from the work scrawled across a woman's chest says, "Lolita's name: the point of the tongue traveling of three steps down the roof of the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".

Additionally, there are a series of photographs of female travel documents and ID papers from countries around the world, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the data on the papers, like names and DOBs, is obscured but the panel stated in a statement that the passports are associated with "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were interacting with".

Another photo depicts Epstein sitting at a workstation intimately surrounded by three individuals whose identities have been obscured - one has her palm on Epstein's chest under his garment, and a second is leaning to examine a adjacent laptop. Epstein seems to be helping the third attach a piece of jewelry.

An additional photograph released is a image of text messages from an unknown individual who states they have been supplied "some girls" and are requesting "$1000 for each individual".

Photograph Publication Occurs Before DOJ Deadline

The panel has a vast number of images in its holdings from the Epstein holdings, which are "simultaneously explicit and mundane," its statement on this week clarified.

The House Oversight Committee first legally compelled the property of Epstein, who died in a New York prison in 2019 while facing trial on accusations of human trafficking, in August.

The photographs and documents the Epstein estate gave to the body are distinct from what is largely called "the Epstein files". Those files are records under the justice department's control connected to its separate probe into Epstein.

Pursuant to the recently passed law, which the President made law recently, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to publish its records. The extent of what's included in the DOJ's records is unclear, and it's probable that much of the information will be heavily obscured, similar to House Oversight Committee documents
