Brian Eno Urges Support to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to send support to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a significant sum for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of producers and composers. The track blends a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The team running the project have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative explained. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the region was noted for its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
