High-level talks with American, Russian, and Ukrainian delegates are underway in Abu Dhabi this week, representing the latest step in efforts to broker a resolution to resolve the protracted conflict in Ukraine.

American military Secretary the US representative reportedly held talks with a Moscow group on the eve of the talks, with negotiations extending into Tuesday.

These meetings come after prior discussions in Switzerland where American and Kyiv officials reworked a preliminary American framework for resolving the conflict.

Moscow has so far not endorsed the latest iteration of the plan and is unlikely to agree to many of the Kyiv revisions.

Moscow’s top diplomat, the Russian diplomat, emphasized that any modified peace plan must embody the “intent and text” of what was agreed during earlier high-level meetings between the two countries.

EU leaders are apparently struggling to remain involved in the process as American officials take the lead.

The Finnish leader, a European figure, who has emerged as a key interlocutor between the US and European officials, commented that the immediate future would be decisive in efforts to secure a agreement.

He allegedly spoke with the Ukrainian president and the alliance representatives, emphasizing that “Decisions about Ukraine’s future rest with its people, and with European security falling under Europe’s purview.”

At the same time, the French president, Emmanuel Macron, warned against a settlement that would represent a “surrender” for Ukraine.

“Terms presented suggest what Russia could agree to. But does this imply it should be endorsed by Ukraine and Europe? The answer is no,” he declared.

Russian forces reportedly launched numerous of projectiles and hundreds of drones at objectives in and around the capital, as stated by Ukrainian reports.

Zelenskyy stressed that Moscow must not believe it could win the war while negotiations were underway.

“What matters most now is that all partners move toward diplomacy together, through joint efforts. Sanctions and pressure on Moscow must yield outcomes,” he affirmed.

The capital’s mayor confirmed that seven people had been fatally injured in the overnight assault on the city.
