Aerial Pictures Indicate Iran's Naval Forces and Atomic Sites Targeted by Joint US and Israeli Strikes.

A wave of American and Israeli airstrikes has allegedly eliminated or harmed at least eleven Iranian naval vessels starting the weekend, recently obtained aerial photos reveal, with missile bases and atomic facilities also sustaining hits.

Pictures of the southerly Konarak naval naval base and the Bandar Abbas installation, which sits on the strategic Hormuz Strait and houses the headquarters of the Iran's naval force, reveal smoke billowing from multiple warships on the start of the week.

Naval Forces Sustained Significant Damage

Included in the ships sunk was the IRINS Makran, Iran's most sizable ship which had been used as a drone carrier. Satellite images displayed thick smoke pouring from the ship which had been moored at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Intelligence assessments suggest that at least five ships at the port were "struck or destroyed". Pictures of the south end of the harbor depict smoke rising from the IRINS Makran, while additional ships appear to be impacted, with a single one seen burning.

Over at Konarak, photos display several damaged ships, with expert review identifying impacts on six ships. Photos from the start of the week also demonstrate that multiple structures at the base have been leveled.

"For decades the Iran's leadership has harassed international shipping," an American commander stated. "Now, there is not one Iranian vessel at sea in the Arabian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Sea of Oman, and we will continue."

Some ships allegedly destroyed may have been concealed in aerial photos by cloud or smoke, or targeted offshore, and have not been independently verified. Other accounts indicated that a ship from Iran was sinking near Sri Lankan territorial waters, prompting a rescue operation.

Rocket Installations and Atomic Locations Hit

Neutralizing Iran's rocket sites and the stopping nuclear weapons development were stated as additional goals of the offensive. Satellite images also showed impacts against the southern Khorgu and northwestern Tabriz missile missile bases, and at the Konarak base, where missile storage facilities and fortifications were struck.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e UAV facility to the west of the city of Kermanshah, widespread destruction was seen to sheds, bunkers and unmanned aircraft systems.

Damage was also noted at a surveillance station at the Zahedan airbase in eastern parts of the country, near the border with neighboring nations.

Of particular note, the most recent series of attacks have apparently targeted installations at the Natanz complex – widely believed to be at the center of the country's atomic program. An international watchdog said that the affected structures were used for entry to the facility's below-ground enrichment facility and that "no release of radioactive material" was anticipated.

Wider Fallout and Analysis

Observers indicated that the attacks appeared to have "significantly degraded" the Iranian navy's ability to conduct standard operations using its biggest warships. Nevertheless, it was emphasised that Iran still has the ability to launch unconventional attacks at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, mini-submarines and its so-called "ghost fleet" of oil ships.

The overall scale of the damage caused to Iran's defense facilities is still uncertain, with hostilities said to be continuing. Pictures also indicates widespread damage to the command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the capital Tehran.

A significant number of public facilities also are reported to have been hit in the capital and across Iran after the conflict began. Reports of deaths from ground sources suggest that many hundreds of civilians may have been lost their lives in the strikes.

As the situation develops, monitoring of satellite imagery will continue to assess the unfolding battlefield picture.
