A Pig's Tale: Pig Named Six Seven Pardoned by Miami Dade County Leader.

Although not quite at the same level as granting clemency to Thanksgiving turkeys, but the mayor of Miami-Dade conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by ritually sparing the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. Clemency is justified for her. No offenses are on her docket,” Levine Cava said in a speech with clear references to the extraordinary and sizable number of pardons issued from the start of the commencement of a second term in office.

“If we disregard eating half a dozen apples per day,” the mayor added. “I hope she experiences a lengthy and joyful existence away from worry.”

The event, simultaneously observing and challenging the area's customary feast of feasting on pork during the holidays, was established to replicate the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The swine, provided by a local firefighter, was given its name from the modern linguistic fad of young people shouting “6-7” – inspired by a rap song lyric – often seemingly at random. The craze became so ubiquitous that a prominent word reference recently made “six-seven” its 2025 word of the year.

A Future Secured

The pardoned swine is now set to enjoy its days at a countryside refuge “away from grills and cookware”, according to the event’s official press release.

“The pig pardon has become a cherished method to kick off the holiday season,” said Eric Castellanos, in a notably cheerful message.

“It represents the spirit of Miami: happy, varied, and grounded in customs that bring people together. Each year, we are delighted to mark tradition and kindness in a way unique to Miami.”

Attendees enjoyed a meat-free selection of spinach fritters and cafecito as they marked Six Seven’s big moment.
